Happy Leap Day!

The class sure has learned a lot this school year, and especially this week! In math, they have been learning how to tell time to the minute and how to find elapsed time using a t-chart. We will continue working on time and measurement through the end of this week before moving on to area and perimeter.

In reading, the class has been doing an arctic animal research project during their reading rotations. They have had to do double bubble charts, triple Venn Diagrams, and creating their own stories based on the animals they have been reading. Over all, they will have learned about 7 different animals.

Science has really been a blast! We were visited by the McWane Science Center. A very knowledgeable teacher came to share about different types of rocks and minerals. Did you know that pure salt can be licked and will have germs die immediately after tasting it?

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3. All third through fifth grade students at Edgewood will be participating in the Aspire ACT test that will test on all skills learned in their particular grade. Third graders will be testing on April 5th and 6th, which is just 1 day after we return from Spring Break! We will be doing a lot of review over the next several weeks. Stay tuned for more information soon.
