Can't believe it's November!

We made it through the exciting month of October!  From Red Ribbon week to Halloween, it was packed with a lot of fun activities!  In math, we have almost finished ALL of the multiplication facts!  All we have left are x7, x8, and x12.  We will be continuing to learn these over the next several weeks and continue to review them throughout the year.  On Halloween, students enjoyed fun Halloween math rotations including: graveyard subtraction, pumpkin graphing, spooky tangrams, and candy corn multiplication bingo!

In reading, students have continued their reading stations and have worked on some fun activities.  One of their recent favorites has come from our class read aloud, The Witches, by Roald Dahl.  The class created their own potion to turn the mouse back into a boy!  The students have also been really excited because we have started our novel clubs with various books, such as Mr. Popper's Penguins and Frindle.

After creating propeller-driven vehicles, the class has started a unit on magnets.  They even learned how to levitate two magnets using a pencil and magnets only.  Ask them how they did this!  We will be continuing our magnets unit for a couple more weeks.

Here are some important dates to remember:

-  No School on Friday, November 10th in observance of Veteran's Day
-  Class field trip to Children's Theater on Wednesday, November 15th
-  Thanksgiving Break is November 20 through November 24
