Tuesday Update

I hope that you had a wonderful long weekend with your children! We had a busy, busy, busy time in class last week! The class played a fun game called "Scoot" to review their knowledge of adjectives. They literally had to scoot around the room to find the answers!

In social studies, students continued to work on their ABC's of Alabama book. They have really enjoyed working in partners for this fun research project!

On Friday, students started their own Padlets (see also www.padlet.com) where they will be writing about what they are reading each week. We have a hallway display that allows others around the school to view their website through a QR code. The students were thrilled with this project, to say the least!

Happy New Year!

We have had a great first week back in third grade! The students have already jumped back in to work. We also welcomed a new student teacher, Miss Baxter, from Samford. She will be joining us until May 5 to observe and will teach some lessons under my guidance and supervision. The students and I are very excited for her to join us!

This week in math, students began learning about graphing and started graph problem solving. We will continue working on graphing next week.

A fun activity that the students have been involved in this week is an ABC's of Alabama booklet. Students are researching different aspects of Alabama and are creating a colorful book to go along with their information using the laptops.

I have included some pictures from our class Christmas party in December! Sorry they are late.
