Red Ribbon Week

Can you believe that October is almost over? This week has a been a lot of fun because we have been celebrating Red Ribbon Week! We've had some fun characters, pajamas, and camouflaged kids!

We have been celebrating this month with some fun writing and math activities. Students have created Halloween selfies with a writing prompt, and they have helped me pick my son's Halloween costume based on their persuasive essays!

In math, students have continued to play games and reviewed daily for multiplication. In about three weeks, the class will have learned all of our multiplication facts! Please make sure that your child is practicing daily!

Busy October!

Here at Edgewood, October is probably the busiest month that we have! It includes Grandpals' Day, Red Ribbon Week, Special Olympics, Halloween, and parent conferences. We have been busy, busy, busy having fun and still doing a lot of learning!

In reading, students have been learning about cause and effect, fluency, and doing a lot of nonfiction reading strategies! Besides our Grandpals' Day writing, students have been writing me a persuasive letter to get me to choose a certain costume for my son, Clark, to wear this October.

In math, students have now learned all of their 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, and 11s! Keep having them practice nightly. We will continue to take timed tests to test for fluency.
