November Update

Once you make it past October, November flies by very quickly!  Soon we will be stuffed with turkey and dressing!  We have had a blast here in third grade!  The past month, we have:

- finished our Motion and Design unit in science and started on magnets
-  made fancy hot chocolate and wrote an expository "how-to" essay
-  written an opinion piece on what Clark should wear for Halloween
-  dressed up for Red Ribbon Week
-  had a Halloween room transformation where students:
     -  solved math review problems and go to "trick or treat"
     -  the treats involved some candy, pencils, and erasers
     -  the tricks involved sticking hands into mystery bags, such as           "witches warts"
     -  made glow-in-the-dark models of their hands
     -  shared their pumpkin dressed as a book character
-  learned about Veteran's Day through a brochure and book activity
-  learned about point of view and comparing/contrasting two fiction passages
-  learned about helping and linking verbs
-  finished learning/being introduced to all multiplication facts
-  participated in a magnet activity with Dr. G where they had to use four magnets to make a nail spin (see Instagram for fun video!)
